As concerns are growing over deadly fires on EVs, a group of lawmakers proposed a bill in an effort to prevent potential fires on EVs by requiring a battery inspection in the periodic vehicle inspection and notification of the result to the vehicle owners.
The provision includes the following:
- Upon the periodic vehicle inspection, conduct an inspection on the traction battery to check its compliance with the inspection standard.
- Notify the vehicle owner of the result
