Promulgation of Regulation for Test procedures for Energy efficiency, Greenhouse gas emission and Fuel economy for Motor Vehicles (2022.01.17)

This revision aims to improve the FE test procedures and make the test more practical.

  • The test using a robot driver is allowed for the FE test as in the emission test under MOE.
  • Re-approval is required if changing the test procedure for coast down
  • The criterion is relaxed for the distance from the vehicle front for installing the variable speed cooling fan.
  • The premium gasoline may be used upon test under specific conditions.
  • The testing speed is increased for the Constant Speed Cycle (CSC) under the MCT test procedure.
  • The tire RRC calculation is newly specified for vehicles equipped with different tires on the front and the rear.
  • The calculation method of PHEV GHG emissions is clarified.
