MOLIT updated Korea New Car Assessment Program (KNCAP) Test Protocol on the KNCAP website (http://www.kncap.org/indexNew.jsp). The 2023 KNCAP test protocols revised test procedures, as well as introducing new assessments for car-to-car crash compatibility and V2X communication devices. These new protocols will take effect on January 1, 2024. The details are as follows:
- (TP-CS-2) Car-to-car crash compatibility test procedures (entry into force from 2024.01.01)
- MPDB (mobile progressive deformable barrier) impact with a trolley
- Trolley total mass: 1,400kg ± 20kg
- Impact speed: 56km/h ± 1km/h
- Trolley total mass harmonized with EuroNCAP, but impact speed not harmonized (EuroNCAP: 50km/h)
- MPDB (mobile progressive deformable barrier) impact with a trolley
- (TP-SS-9) V2X communication device (entry into force from 2024.01.01)
