Revision Draft of MVCA Subordinate Regulations for Battery Safety Verification

KATRI shared updated drafts for MVCA subordinate laws and regulations related to the EV battery safety verification system. The drafts provide specific and comprehensive requirements for the successful implementation of the system. Major updates include the following:

  • Include state estimation parameters (SOX) in the detailed specifications of core devices:
    • State of Charge
    • State of Health
    • State of Power
    • State of Energy
    • State of Life
    • State of Balance
    • State of Safety
  • Conformity test to be conducted every three years after the date of safety verification.
  • Determine significant modifications to core devices
    • Change of rated voltage: > 5%
    • Change of rated capacity: > 5%
    • Change of maximum output: > 5%
    • BMS logic modification affecting the battery’s performance and safety
  • Specify test items for significant modifications
