On November 30, KATRI held a workshop to have discussions with the industry concerning:
- Legislation for EV battery safety verification system under MVCA subordinate laws and regulations which:
- Specify major modifications of major parts, etc. such as change of maximum output, rated voltage, rated capacity exceeding 5% (MVCA Regulation Table 5-9)
- Specify the specifications of major parts such as for battery pack, BMS, battery cell, etc. (MVCA Regulation Table 5-10)
- Specify the testing facilities requirements for safety verification of major parts (MVCA Regulation Table 5-11)
- Specify the safety verification labeling method, safety/performance test procedures, conformity test procedures of major parts (Regulations for Certification and Investigation Table 14, 14-2, 14-3)
- Implementation of the EV battery management system
- Battery history management and BMS information management
- Construction of battery history management computer network
KATRI seeks feedback on the drafts for battery safety verification system and the plans for the battery management system from the industry for effective implementation.
