A group of lawmakers proposed a bill concerning the compensation of defect repair expenses for the owner. Currently, MOLIT specifies in MVCA that the vehicle manufacturer shall compensate the vehicle owner, if the owner paid the expense for a defect repair before the decision of a defect rectification. However, MOE has no relevant provisions. This bill proposal seeks to protect vehicle owners who paid the repair expenses for a manufacturing defect before the implementation of a defect rectification. This revision is as follows:
- Specify a provision for compensating the defect repair expenses for the vehicle owner
- Specify an administrative fine
