KATRI shared the revision draft of KMVSS TP_42 Horn and seeks manufacturers’ opinions. It intends to revise the requirements to be feasible for EVs (including two-wheeled EVs) and to clarify the requirements. Not fully harmonized with UN R28, this would cause confusion and additional burden on manufacturers. The revisions include as follows:
– The vehicle driven by electricity must meet the test requirements regardless of the battery’s SOC (state of charge).
– The horn is tested with the engine in the operating state for ICE vehicle (or ready for operation for EV) and sufficiently charged.
– The average value of the measured values is recorded, rather than the maximum value.
