MOE’s Proposal for Self In-use Vehicle Compliance Test

MOE presented a proposal which requires the vehicle manufacturer to conduct the in-use vehicle compliance test by itself (hereinafter, self in-use vehicle compliance test) at an authorized local testing facility and report its result to the authority. However, it caused great concerns and controversies among manufacturers. The proposal includes as follows:

  • Vehicle subject: New vehicles certified from the implementation (vehicle model based on the MOE certification numbers)
  • Test categories
