Under the current law, vehicle manufacturers must disclose the data on vehicle parts prices on their websites. Its aim is to encourage the use of substitute parts for vehicles and to expand consumer choice for vehicle parts. However, it is difficult to search for the price information on the websites. Also, in a number of cases the prices disclosed are not correct. Accordingly, a group of lawmakers proposed a bill requiring vehicle manufacturers to submit the price data disclosed on their websites. The provisions include as follows.
- Vehicle manufacturers must submit the vehicle parts prices disclosed on their websites to the Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.
- Vehicle manufacturers will be fined if not submitting the applicable data or falsely submitting it.
