The Regulations for Designation of Restricted or Prohibited Substances was promulgated to designate new restricted substances and strengthen the existing restriction. It intends to:
- Newly designate restricted substances
- Strengthen the restriction for lead and chromium (6+) compounds to reduce heavy metals in all types of paints.
- Reduce possibilities of harms caused by hazardous chemicals to public health and environment
