Bill Proposal for AEPA Revision on GHG Emission Labeling

Vehicle manufacturers are required to attach fuel economy labels on their vehicles to provide information on vehicle performance. However, consumers have complained that they lack clear and accurate information on the driving range of electric vehicles (EVs), which is especially problematic during winter when cold temperatures can affect battery performance and reduce the driving range. To address this issue, a proposed bill seeks to mandate that manufacturers attach easily visible information on both the fuel economy and driving range of EVs. This is intended to improve consumer convenience and enable them to make more informed decisions about driving an electric vehicle.
