On October 4, KATRI held a meeting with the manufacturers to discuss the matters concerning the crash safety of KNCAP. Major agendas include the following:
- KNCAP car-to-car protocol under development
- Implementation from 2024
- Impact mode : MPDB (mobile progressive deformable barrier) impact with a trolley of 1,400kg at 56km/h
- Plan to relax the stringent star rating and balance limit criteria to the level of EuroNCAP at the request from manufacturers
- Compatibility assessment to be included (modifier: -6.5 points)
- KATRI’s plan for a revision for 2023 KNCAP technical requirements for crash safety
- KATRI’s plan for the 2024-2028 KNCAP crash safety roadmap
