MOLIT presented a revised draft to the previous draft with several modifications concerning the battery type approval system, seeking to clarify and specify the requirements.
The revised draft includes the following:
Term change
- For a clear distinction between the self-certification and the type approval
- ‘type approval’ –> ‘safety inspection’
- ‘modification certification’ –> ‘re-inspection’
Change of testing method
- Due to the limited capacity of the performance testing agency, the safety inspection may be conducted:
- by a designated testing institution or
- by the manufacturer equipped with appropriate facilities.
- In this case, the performance testing agency may verify the compliance of the testing facilities and conduct a witness test.
