MOTIE pre-announced the draft of Enf. Reg. of Electrical Appliances and Consumer Products Safety Control Act (Act) with regard to KC marking requirement. The revision draft intends to exempt the tires fitted on the self-certified vehicles from the safety verification report (e.g. KC marking requirement). Currently, vehicle tires must comply with the requirements of both the Act’s safety certification and the MVCA’s self-certification. It is expected to reduce the burden of overlapping regulation on vehicle manufacturers. The revision draft is specified as follows:
- Tires fitted on the self-certified vehicles are fully exempted from the safety verification report.
