◇ Background
In an effort to reduce greenhouse gas emission, the revision draft seeks to reorganize the current LEV classification into a ZEV-oriented classification. It also specifies the detailed requirements for the LEV supply contribution* to be imposed from 2023 according to the AEPA revision for LEV supply target.
* LEV supply contribution is imposed on the vehicle manufacturers who fail to achieve the LEV supply target (Article 58-4 of AEPA)
◇ Main Contents
- Class 3 LEV (LPG, etc.) is removed from the LEV classification. (Article 1-2 Item 3)
- The upper limit of sales amount for the calculation of LEV supply contribution is defined. (Article 52-4)
- The reduction criterion for the LEV supply contribution is specified. (Article 52-4)
