The current MVCA allows the use of substitute parts certified for their performance and quality by the designated certification agency, except for the self-certified parts. In order to further encourage the use of substitute parts, a group of lawmakers proposed a bill which adds the self-certified parts to the scope of substitute parts certification. The bill seeks to give a boost to mid/small-sized vehicle parts manufacturers and the vehicle parts industry. The revision is as follows:
- Delete the provision (Article 30-5 Clause 2) which excludes self-certified parts from the scope of substitute parts certification
