Under the current Act, manufacturers or importers of the product containing critical control substances must report the name, amount, hazard information, and exposure information of the critical control substances and its use in the product prior to its manufacture or import. However, the Act does not require the reporting of any modification for the major item reported. Accordingly, a group of lawmakers proposed a bill requiring the manufacturers or importers to report modifications. The provisions include as follows:

  • The manufacturer or importer must report any modification of major items reported for the critical control substance. (e.g. a modification of its volume, exposure information, use, content)
  • An administrative fine will be imposed, if not reporting any modification or if reporting it falsely.
