Currently, KATRI is working on the revision draft for KMVSS TP for horn, seeking to make them more feasible for EVs (including two-wheeled EVs) and to clarify the requirements. In a meeting with the manufacturers in March, KATRI presented the 2nd draft after reviewing the manufacturers’ opinions on the 1st draft. The main discussions in the meeting are as follows:
- Concerning the sound level measuring method, the 2nd draft maintains the current ‘maximum’ value.
- KATRI requested the data on the minimum SOC for operating the EV at the manufacturers’ demand for clarification on the test condition.
- Over the issue of harmonization with UN R 28, there were pros and cons between domestic and foreign manufacturers. KATRI takes a stance against harmonization but is willing to have further discussion.
